ITO Hydrophobic Optical Grade Acrylic Window

Customer DemandITO Bus Bar

  • Customer Background:Commercial Engines, Aviation, Helicopter and Military engines, Manufacturer of Engines.
  • Scene Description:In this project, the ITO hydrophobic optical transparent window will have the cameras and lights, which will be installed at different locations of metal plates and composite pipes on an ice test rig, through which water/ice from 0° to -20° will pass. During the whole process, it is necessary to keep the transparent window free from fog, ice and water droplets, so as not to affect the experimental process in the observation pipeline.
  • Demand portrait:

Would like to have the optical windows with:

  • 85% transmittance minimum

The optical windows environment:

  • Temp down to -20⁰C on one side of glass submitted to high velocity icing mist
  • +20⁰C on the ‘’dry side’’/Camera side

Looking to procure transparent heater thin film installed on the optical windows to prevent fogging and ice accretion.

  • Variable heating capability of 5w/in2 minimum
  • Anti-fog on both sides of glass
  • Hydrophobic on the opposite side of ITO

Would like to have The ITO applied on Optical Acrylic Window comes with a “bus bar (electrodes)” and with wired termination coming out of ITO film.

Would like to have the hydrophobic on opposite side of the ITO.

WeProFab Primary Solution

  • Processes:

Acrylic: Use the thermos forming process plus diamond polishing.

ITO: Conductive coating with adjustable resistance values from 6Ω/sq to 150Ω/sq, voltage 0-380V, 85% VLT around.

Hydrophobic: Hydrophobic coating is a property of molecules that do not mix with water.

  • Raw Materials: Optical grade acrylic, High-definitionPET based materials for ITO and hydrophobic.

WeProFab Final Solution

  • Processes Descriptions: Detail breakdown, how to do the processes. detail parameters with pictures and videos (introduce about the equipment if it is necessary).
  • Critical to Quality: Which parts are difficult, what’s our thinking, and how we resolve them.
  • Final Products Description: From the aspects of QDCRT (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Response, Technology) . which value we deliver to customers.

Process:

Sheet Cutting: Cut the acrylic sheet to a sheet size slightly larger than the final molding size to facilitate machining loss after hot forming.

Hot-bending Mold: Each acrylic sheet has a different curvature, and different hot-pressing molds and processing tools need to be made.

Hot Bbending: Bend the acrylic sheet to the curvature required by the drawing.

Machining: Mill the required size through the tool.

Polishing: Use a cloth wheel or other polishing paste to polish to the mirror effect.

Process:

1.Prepare ITO film with low sputtering voltage on the surface.

2.Make two lines of conductive silver paste on the top and bottom as a conductive carrier.

3.The top and bottom height dimensions of the ITO film need to be smaller than the plate size.
