Customer Requirements:
- Customer Background: The client is an office interior design company specializing in layout and decoration for large corporations. They have designed a display panel for wall mounting. Their design made me feel that winning and implementing this project would be a wonderful endeavor. It is precisely this vision that has kept me motivated to push this project forward.
- Requirements Profile: Office decoration panel, thermoforming panel, silk print, laser print.
- Process Overview: The manufacturing process is generally not complex, primarily using thermoforming and bonding techniques.
Key Challenges:
- The product wall thickness is very thin, only 1-2mm. If it’s too thick, the overall aesthetic effect of the product suffers. Furthermore, thermoforming at a certain location is prone to creating holes, making it impossible to produce this as a standard, consistent part.
- The product is very large, which also creates significant hidden risks for subsequent leveling work.
- The product requires assembly from many different materials. This presents a major challenge for our assembly and bonding capabilities. We used materials we had never worked with before, including specific boards and even fabrics. Technologically, we employed digital printing, laser engraving, fabric and felt cutting, and sheet metal cutting.
- During production, bonding the different materials was difficult; in cutting, the edge treatment for each board also required high precision to enhance the overall product aesthetics. These processes made progress very challenging.
Solution:
- The subsequent plan is still under negotiation. For the initial phase, the approach involves continuous trial and error, operating with great care, and striving to reduce the scrap rate.
- Through multiple rounds of verification and on-site review and feedback from the client, we successfully completed the delivery. We have discussed with the client and will provide suggestions and improvements for subsequent production runs, laying a solid foundation for future batches of the product.
