EPS is produced by expanding small beads of polystyrene with heat and steam, which are then fused together to form a strong foam-like structure, so they are lightweight and waterproof, making them ideal for use as a box liner to protect fragile and temperature-controlled products in transit.

The weight of an EPS sheet depends on its density (10-40 kg/m3), thickness** and size. For example, a 4 ft. x 8 ft. x 1 in. sheet weighs approximately 1.8 kg (4 lbs) at a density of 10 kg/m3 and 7.2 kg (16 lbs) at a density of 40 kg/m3. They are lightweight and easy to handle.
