What differentiates WeProFab’s FEP Sheet?

As the one-of-the kind FEP sheet provider, we are proud to present you with FEP sheets with the best quality. WeProFab’s FEP sheets are extremely flexible, resistant to breaking and have excellent electrical properties. Also, they are immune to virtually all chemicals, heat, radiation and outdoor UV, transparent and have zero moisture absorption, safeguarding all your usages such as kitchen, packaging, industrial and 3D printing. Moreover,WeProFab’s FEP sheets are known for their low gas permeation and outgassing, ideal for extreme situations.

WeProFab is offering FEP sheets in various customized ways possible, such as thickness. We are able to provide more than 7 different thicknesses, depending on your use case. The thinnest ones could be used as release foil for molds, thicker ones are suitable for flex vat or UV disinfection, while for chemical applications, the thick ones are your ideal choice.

Where Can We Find the FEP Sheet?

As a highly versatile material, FEP is popular among a wide range of industries. In the kitchen, it is good for food processing and microwave insulation thanks to its heat resistance. It is also chemically inert and has zero moisture absorption, which is perfect for laboratory uses and medical devices. With its excellent electrical properties, FEP sheet is a star in chemical industry and electronic usages, for example, wire insulating and covering, aircraft wiring and glazing for solar energy collectors. It is also good for packaging, seals, gaskets and semi-conductor equipment. Last but not least, due to its UV resistance and flexibility, it is the perfect fit for 3D printing.

What’s the Difference between FEP and TFE?

FEP enjoys all the desirable properties of TFE (PTFE) like electrical properties, resistance to moisture and chemical inertness, while its functional temperature could be lower, at around 392 degrees(F200 degrees C). FEP has an extremely practical privilege over TFE in that it has great flexibility and can be injection molded and extruded into various shapes and forms such as FEP tube, Film, Sheet and others in conventional methods, making it more ideal for processing and creative design. What’s more,FEP’s coefficient of friction is higher than that of TFE’s.

Why are FEP sheets used in 3D Printing?

As a material renowned for its exceptional transparency and superior strength, FEP not only boasts excellent chemical resistance but also comes in a variety of thicknesses and grades to meet your diverse needs. Its unique chemical stability ensures minimal clouding during the curing process of photosensitive resins, guaranteeing clear and detailed prints every time. Whether considering performance or cost-effectiveness, FEP is an ideal choice for resin 3D printing, offering high value for money and helping you achieve high-quality prints with ease. Choose FEP to make your 3D printing journey smoother and more efficient!

What’s FEP Sheet Cost?

Typically ranges from $10 to $30 for standard sizes (12″ x 12″).

What’s FEP sheet HS Code?

The HS code for FEP flakes is usually 3917.32 and covers fluoropolymers.

How to clean FEP Sheet?

To clean the FEP sheet, follow these steps:

  1. Use mild soap and water: Gently wipe the surface with a soft cloth or sponge soaked in warm soapy water.
  2. Rinse thoroughly: Make sure to rinse with water to remove all soap residue.
  3. Avoid abrasive cleaners: Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive pads or scrubbing tools as they can damage the sheet.
  4. Dry with care: Pat the sheet dry with a lint-free cloth or air dry to prevent water damage.

For 3D printer FEP sheets, you can use Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) to clean the resin residue, but avoid using harsh solvents.

How to replace FEP Sheet?

To replace a FEP sheet (such as the one in a 3D printer), follow these steps:

  1. Turn off and unplug the printer: Make sure the printer is powered off before starting.
  2. Remove the old FEP sheet:
  • If it is a 3D printer, carefully remove the FEP sheet from the resin bath. It may be secured with screws or clips – loosen them carefully.
  • If the sheet has been glued or taped, gently remove it without damaging the surface.
  1. Clean the resin bath: Remove any remaining resin or debris from the resin bath before installing the new sheet.
  2. Prepare new FEP sheet:
  • If necessary, cut the new FEP sheet to the proper size.
  • Make sure the new sheet is clean and free of dust or particles.
  1. Install the new FEP sheet:
  • Place the new FEP sheet over the resin channel to ensure proper alignment.
  • Secure the sheet with screws, clips, or adhesive (if required), making sure it is tight and smooth to prevent resin leakage.
  1. Test Setup: Power on the printer and run a test print to ensure that the new FEP sheet is working properly.

Replace the FEP sheet periodically to maintain print quality and avoid damage to the printer.
