Fine Surface Treatment
We will finely polish and surface treat each HDPE pipe. First, we will use a special hot-melt welding gun to melt and fill the HDPE patch to repair the scratches or small holes in the HDPE pipe. Then use 120-grit sandpaper to remove the surface oxide layer and increase the roughness. After that, wipe it with isopropyl alcohol to remove grease, dust, and other pollutants to ensure a smooth and flat surface. Finally, we will use electrostatic spraying epoxy resin to solidify at 200-220℃ to form a uniform protective layer. Improve the corrosion resistance and UV resistance of HDPE pipes and extend their outdoor service life.


Strict Quality Testing
Weprofab has a complete quality inspection system, including preliminary observation inspection to check whether there are bubbles, cracks, or impurities on the surface. And use an ultrasonic thickness gauge to check whether the thickness of each part is the same and whether there are weld defects. In addition, we will also conduct random tests on each batch of HDPE pipes, including tensile strength test, pressure resistance test, ring stiffness test, melt index test, carbon black content test, thermal stability test, etc. This complete quality inspection system ensures the quality of each batch of HDPE pipes we sell.
How to Produce HDPE Pipes?
The production of HDPE pipes generally requires the following steps.
Step 1: You should choose high-purity HDPE resin particles and add antioxidants and UV stabilizers to them.
Step 2: You should use an extruder to heat the HDPE until the particles become molten. Then you need to extrude the molten HDPE through a ring die to form a tube blank. The die pressure needs to be controlled at 15-25MPa. At this time, you can choose to extrude a smooth tube wall directly, or use co-extrusion technology, the outer layer is made into a corrugated shape by a corrugation tool, and the inner layer remains smooth.
Step 3: You should put the initially formed HDPE tube into a vacuum sizing box, calibrate the outer diameter through negative pressure adsorption, and then use segmented cooling to put it into water for cooling and shaping.
Step 4: You should use a hydraulic traction machine to pull out the HDPE pipe at a uniform speed of 0.5-10m/min, and then use a laser length measuring instrument with an automatic cutting machine to cut it to ensure that the length of each section of the pipe is the same.
Step 5: You should spray code the surface of the HDPE pipe to mark product information such as material grade, production date, and implementation standard.
The price of HDPE corrugated pipes from Chinese manufacturers is $0.024-0.026/m, but the minimum order quantity is more than 3000m. If calculated based on the cost of raw materials, the cost per meter of pipe is about $1.3-1.5.
HDPE pipe is softer and can be laid in a bent manner. PVC pipe is harder and needs to be connected through joints. HDPE pipe has a wide temperature range, while PVC pipe has poor low-temperature resistance. HDPE pipe can absorb shock waves and has excellent seismic resistance. PVC pipe is easily broken by external impact. HDPE pipe is mostly connected by hot-melt welding, electric fusion pipe clamp, or sealing ring socket connection to form a seamless whole. PVC pipe is usually bonded with adhesive or threaded joints, and needs to rely on accessories for sealing. PVC pipe has a lower raw material cost and is suitable for projects with limited budgets. HDPE pipe has a longer overall life and lower long-term maintenance costs.
