PAI Sheet Manufacturer in China

Crafted with engineering plastic called polyamide-imide, polyamide-imide sheet (hereinafter referred as PAI sheet) is  a well-known engineering plastic due to its outstanding mechanical, thermal and chemical properties. It is a thermoplastic material that is manufactured through the polycondensation reaction of aromatic diamines and aromatic dianhydrides. It can bear various temperatures ranging from -50°C to 220 °C. Meanwhile, it has been equipped with a slippery surface which is wear-resistant. Given its unique properties, it has been applied across various industries, such as aerospace, metal and related industries and devices in high-tech machinery. If you are looking for desirable PAI sheets, PAI sheets in various size, color and thickness options are available. Moreover, we can supply bespoke service for PAI sheets according to your specific requirements.

Outstanding Characteristics of PAI sheets

Exceptional mechanical strength: PAI sheet exhibits excellent mechanical strength given that it possesses high tensile strength, high-impact resistance and stiffness. This unique mechanical strength ensures its excellent performance even under tough conditions like changing temperatures or heavy loads.

Excellent electrical insulation: PAI sheet showcases excellent electrical insulation properties, which is evidenced by high dielectric strength and low electrical conductivity. This, indeed, makes it particularly suitable for the applications where insulation and reliability are emphasized.

Chemical resistance: PAI sheets can be exposed to some chemicals like acids, oils or fuels without altering their properties, which enable them to be applicable in corrosive environments or adapt to the aggressive substances.

Machinability: We can apply conventional metalworking techniques like drilling, milling and sawing to fabricate and machine PAI sheets. This permits the custom service of PAI sheets with specific dimensions or shape.

Wide Applications of PAI sheet to Facilitate Your Life

The versatility and excellent performance of PAI sheets make them favorable materials in a wide range of industries and applications where demanding operating conditions are required. Some of its typical applications entail the following:

Aerospace: As for aerospace applications, PAI sheets are used for the components which set high requirements on high temperature resistance like thrust reversers, seals, engine parts, bearings and structural components.

Automotive: In the automotive industry, PAI sheets are used for the components which can bear high temperatures, be free of chemicals and exhibit excellent mechanical strength. These applications include bushings, gears, seals, bearings and connectors in engines, transmissions, and drivetrain systems.

Electrical and Electronics: PAI sheets are also utilized for the electronic and electrical applications which require high electrical insulation properties, such as connectors, insulators, circuit boards, and encapsulation materials. Given its outstanding electrical property, it has been favored under the use in high-voltage and high-temperature environments.

Oil and gas: PAI sheets are also employed in the oil and gas industry for the components that require harsh chemical resistance, high temperatures resistance, and extreme pressures. The common applications include bushings, valve seats, seals, bearings and pump components applied in drilling, production, and refining operations.

Is PAI a thermoplastic?

PAI (Polyamide-Imide) is not a thermoplastic. It belongs to the category of thermosetting plastics. Different from thermoplastics, it can not be melted and reshaped once they are set. However, they can retain their original shape and properties when exposed to heat.

What is the difference between PAI and PEI?

PAI (polyamide-imide) exhibits excellent heatl resistance, high strength and stiffness. However, PEI has better impact resistance and toughness compared to PAI and also has a higher continuous use temperature (around 260°C) compared to PEI (around 180-200°C).

Is polyamide imide expensive?

Compared with polyimide, polyamide is typically more expensive given that it may involve more complicated chemistry and processing techniques, which can contribute to higher manufacturing costs.
