They are made by coating the polycarbonate sheet with hydrophilic ingredients, hydrophilic ingredients are materials with a high affinity to water.

Whenever these water droplets form on the polycarbonate sheets, they reduce to a clear film that allows normal passage of light instead of diffraction and reflection done by huge water droplets.

The Anti-fog coating is only applied to one surface, while the other is coated with another form of a coating.
