Excellent Properties of Weprofab PU Block
Physical properties: Weprofab’s PU block has better abrasion resistance than rubber, the rigid PU block has good compression resistance, and the soft PU block has high elasticity and better shock absorption than spring and rubber. In addition, Weprofab’s PU block is resistant to high and low temperatures, and it can be used in environments ranging from -30°C to 100°C. It has a low density and is easy to transport. And its low density makes it easy to transport.
Chemical properties: Weprofab’s PU block is resistant to mineral oil and some organic solvents, and is resistant to acid and alkali corrosion, suitable for chemical plants. It is also resistant to oxidation, ultraviolet rays, and is not easily degraded.

Various Applications of Weprofab PU Block

How to Produce PU Block?
The production of PU Block requires the following steps.
Step 1: You should mix polyol with isocyanate in the ratio of 1:2 and add catalyst, stabilizer, and foaming agent.
Step 2: You should inject the mixed raw materials into the reaction device to have a chemical reaction and form the foam structure. During the foaming process, you need to control the temperature, humidity, and other variables to regulate the foam density and pore size.
Step 3: If it’s a rigid PU block, you can mold it by pouring it under high pressure into a mold. If it is a soft PU block, you can mold it by continuous foaming.
Step 4: You should leave the molded PU block to cure, which usually takes a few hours to a day.
Step 5: You can cut and polish the cured PU block.
Step 6: You should test the PU block for density, hardness, elasticity, etc., to ensure that it meets the requirements of the application.
How to process PU Block?
PU block can be processed in the following ways.
Cutting and trimming: you can use a cutting machine or circular saw to cut the large PU material into small pieces, and then use tools such as files or carving knives to trim it by hand to remove burrs and edges.
Surface treatment: You can use coarse sandpaper to trim the surface, then use fine sandpaper to polish it, and finally use water sandpaper to sand the surface until it is smooth. At the same time, you can use sponge sand and other flexible tools to deal with the curved surface to ensure the smoothness of its surface.
Packaging: You can use vacuum bags to pump and seal the sanded PU block to improve its durability.
Small PU blocks retail for $1.83-$4/block and large industrial-grade PU blocks cost about $816. The wholesale price of flexible PU blocks is only $0.69/block, but a minimum order of 500 blocks is required.
The service life of a PU block is related to its field of application. PU block can be used as a building material for more than 50 years. As a foaming mold, it can be used 5000 times. It can last 20 years as a cushioning block for machinery and equipment, and 5 years as a furniture material.
PU blocks can be physically recycled, you can crush waste PU blocks into granules or powder and remold them by hot pressing or adhesives. Chemical recycling can also be used, you can break down the PU block under the action of a catalyst to recover polyol and amine compounds to produce a new PU block.
