The Production Process of SMC Sheet
You can learn about the production process of SMC sheets.
Step 1: A paste reservoir dispenses an amount of a specified resin slurry onto a plastic carrier film,and the carrier film passes underneath a chopper, which cuts the fibers to the surface.
Step 2: The fibers flow through the depth of the resin paste, spreading long bundles of fibers in a resin bath that compacts between the films, sandwiching the glass in between.
Step 3: The material is then cured by compression molding onto a winding roll which is used to store the product as it matures.
Step 4: Pre-heated SMC is used and compressed into the shape of the desired SMC sheet using hydraulic presses.
